That critical moment at the board table when a director asks a tough question and the air in the room goes still. I know that moment well.
I know why the question needs to be asked, how an executive team can prepare accordingly, and how to ensure everyone feels they are working towards the same ultimate goal:
a high-performing organization.

CEO
My leadership values include curiosity, collaboration and independent thinking. My expertise, built over two decades in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors, spans board culture and dynamics, enterprise risk oversight, First Nations partnerships, ESG and compliance matters, strategic planning and crisis management.
Having been both a Board Chair and a Corporate Secretary, I have a unique perspective on the nuances of the board/management relationship, which I leverage to develop and implement effective and right-sized governance strategies for the organizations I work with.
I'm a lawyer who gained my early risk management skills practicing insurance law for some of the world's largest insurers. I am also a graduate of the University of Toronto Rotman Institute of Corporate Directors' Director Education Program (ICD.DEP) which provides a great theoretical and practical foundation for anyone interested in high-level board work.
LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
At Boardroom44, we recognize and acknowledge that we live and work on the traditional territories of Indigenous communities, specifically, the unceded traditional territory of the Sewépemc (Shuswap), xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
As an organization and as individuals, we are committed to the struggle against the systems of oppression that have dispossessed Indigenous people of their lands and denied their rights to self-determination, work that is essential to human rights work across the world.
